When will we pay compensation?

We will pay compensation for direct damage, which occurs:

  1. if the postal consignment gets lost, i.e. we will confirm its loss, if it cannot be found despite our search
  2. if the postal consignment has been damaged or destroyed by our fault
  3. if we have failed to completely or partially collect the payment due upon delivery

We will make the compensation payment immediately after the damage or loss of the postal consignment has been confirmed. The compensation payment will be made in Euros.

We will make the compensation payment by bank transfer to the recipient’s bank account. The sender has the right to relinquish the compensation payment in his favour to the recipient and vice versa – the recipient may relinquish the compensation payment in his favour to the sender.
What is the amount of the compensation payment?

  • We shall compensate for the actual value of the postal consignment. The actual value of compensation will become apparent, after you have presented documented evidence regarding the amount of loss: invoice, bank statement etc.
  • Delivery charges which have already been made will also form a part of the amount of compensation.
  • Regarding consignments of valuables, in case of their loss or the complete destruction of their content, we shall compensate for the value which has been declared for the consignment of valuables.
  • If the postal consignment is not insured, i.e. if the postal item is not a consignment of valuables, then there is an upper limit to the amount of compensation of which no higher amounts will be paid, even if it is possible to prove that the amount which had been paid for the lost or damaged postal consignment was higher. m.

In which cases no compensation payment will be made?

  • If the reason for the loss of the postal consignment or the damage of its content has been force majeure. In such a case you will still have the right to reclaim the delivery charges already paid for.
  • We will not be responsible for the loss of the postal consignment, the lack or the damage of its content, if it has been caused by the sender’s fault or carelessness or by the type of the content of the postal consignment.
  • We will take no responsibility, if no inquiry has been made within six months after the postal consignment was sent out.
